The deal between you and ReportSlab.
Plain English. We don't bury obligations in legalese. If something is unclear, email hello@reportslab.org.
What ReportSlab sells
ReportSlab publishes research reports. Each report is a fixed-scope deliverable scoped to a specific sub-niche. The deliverable, price, and what's included are stated on the report's sales page before you buy.
We don't sell ongoing subscriptions, advisory services, custom research, or consulting. We sell reports.
What you can do with a report
Once you've bought a report, you can use it internally at your company for any business purpose. The license is:
- Internal use at one company. Use the data, conclusions, and methodology inside your company however you want.
- Up to 5 seats included at the listed price. Larger teams: contact us for a 10-seat license (price varies by report).
- Modifications allowed. Reformat, integrate into your tools, build dashboards on top. The data is yours to operationalize.
What you can't do with a report
- No resale. You can't resell the report or the raw data files as a competing product.
- No public redistribution. You can't publish the report or the raw data on a public website, in a publicly-accessible tool, or in a way that competes with our sales of the same report.
- No scraping or repackaging. You can't scrape the data into a competing dataset, even with attribution.
- No license transfer. The license is for one company. You can't transfer it to another company, even if you change employers.
What we promise about the data
- The data is sourced from public sources stated in the methodology section of each report.
- The methodology is disclosed on every report page.
- Every data point traces back to a cited source. If you find a number that doesn't trace back, email us within 30 days of purchase and we'll refund and correct the report.
- We publish the methodology, sources, and refresh cadence for each report on its product page.
What we don't promise: that the report's conclusions will lead to a specific business outcome for your company. Reports are informational; your decisions are yours.
Refunds
7-day refund, only if you haven't downloaded the report or clicked "I've accessed my report" yet. See the refund policy for full details, including the data-errors exception.
Pricing and payment
Prices are stated on each report page. Payment is processed by Stripe. We don't see or store your card number. We accept card, Apple Pay, and Google Pay.
Future refreshes, if we publish them, are separate products you would need to purchase.
Updates and refreshes
What you buy is one specific report version, dated on its cover page. We may publish updated versions of a report in the future, but those are new products.
If we publish a refreshed version of a report you bought, we may email you a discount link as a courtesy. We don't promise to do this. If we don't, that's not a breach — your purchase was for the version you received.
You can opt out of those courtesy emails at any time via the unsubscribe link in any email we send.
What happens if we stop operating
If ReportSlab stops operating, we will:
- Email all customers 30 days before shutdown.
- Make the current version of every active report available for free download during the wind-down period.
- Honour all outstanding refunds regardless of when requested.
Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, ReportSlab's total liability for any claim related to a report is limited to the amount you paid for that report.
We are not liable for business decisions you make based on the report. Reports are informational; your decisions are yours.
Disputes
If you have a complaint, email hello@reportslab.org first. We respond within 5 business days and work in good faith to resolve. If we can't resolve informally, the governing law is the law of the jurisdiction where ReportSlab is incorporated.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a material way, we'll email everyone on the list and post a notice on the homepage. The "Last updated" date below will reflect the change. Material changes don't apply retroactively to reports you've already purchased.
